I’m a big fan of late harvest wines, so I was excited to pop the cork on this one, so excited in fact I decided to pop it open before dinner, as aperitif. What I got did not disappoint. The nose was loaded with rhubarb and strawberry, while the palate delivered on the promise of the nose: a mouth-filling rhubarb and strawberry pie with a nice lengthy tart finish that washed the mouth clean readying it for the next taste, yet lingered long enough to allow that craving to build. With each sip I become more and more impressed with this wine, then I saw the price, at $12.50 for a 200 mil bottle this is an absolute steal. Rush out and get yourself some before everyone learns of this great deal on a pseudo-sweetie - I’ll be cruising by this weekend to grab my own half case. Price: $12.50 / 200ml – Rating: *****
