Ontario Reviews

13th Street 2004 Premier Cuvee Brut
One of Ontario’s best bubbly producers is at it again, this time producing a bottle of bubbly that’s very French in style but all Ontario in flavour. Made from 66% Pinot Noir and 34% Chardonnay aged 36 months (3 years) in bottle on the lees, then disgorged, dosaged and aged another 12 months (1 year) for added complexity. What we have here, in essence, is a bottle of “Champagne” without the price tag to match. Mac apple, lemon curd, green apple, nice acidity, intense, persistent bubbles and a long finish. Price: $28.00 – Rating: ****½
