Yup, you read that right, a bottled 2010 wine from Ontario, written about in March of 2011. This is the first bottled 2010 Ontario wine I've tried and I could have guessed, without even thinking too hard about it, that it would be from the 'Stone. Winemaker Dave Johnson learned the trick of bottling early to keep the aromatics fresh while in New Zealand a few years back. And while he's got the aromatics right on this one, he's also maintained great complexity on the palate: the minerality and the fruit are front and centre, with citrus and melon on the mid-palate, while good acidity keeps this wine replaying in the mouth ... this is a great early reminder that summer is coming.
