Sanson 2012 Baco Noir Reserve
When people ask me about Baco I usually turn my head and cough and then change the subject. But when pressed I mention one of three wineries doing the grape some justice in Ontario. Sanson would be one of them. As much as it pains me to compliment a Baco this one has aromas of smoky black currant, while the palate is meaty and smoky with cassis and a touch of an earthy component. If I HAD to drink a Baco, and had the chance, this would be on my short list. Price: $24.95 - Rating: ****
