Riesling has been on hiatus at Coyote’s Run since the last time it was made in 2004 … good thing this 100 case production is not your run of the mill Riesling or else it would be a pretty anti-climactic return to Riesling. The nose runs out subtle citrus, in the form of grapefruit pith and the palate is dry, dry, dry with acid to spare and lots of flinty / mineral notes along with Bosc pear and apple skin with a seemingly rich mouthfeel … it’s not your typical Riesling and that’s what makes it so very good, especially with its hint of grapefruit and lemon pith on the finish.
