The beautiful land (Bella Terra) brought Pondview its first crop of Pinot Noir in 2013 and they aged it some 21 months in French oak (two-thirds new) … the result is lovely red fruit on both the nose and palate along with black cherry, white pepper and gentle spice … when I tried the wine the nose seemed a little shy, giving up only cran-cherry aromas, but give it time to open in a decanter or large glass and you won’t be able to stop sniffing. A great first effort. Price: $50.00 – Rating: ****
