Those who started the rumour that 2013 was not a good vintage (quality-wise) should be drawn and quartered … it’s not a spectacular vintage across the board but the wines that are trickling out show real depth of flavour and great drinkability. Take this Cabernet Franc Reserve from Inniskillin, with its delightful fruit character of raspberry and cherry along with smoky-vanilla and tobacco-mocha all playing together nicely on both the nose and palate, it’s a real winner.
