If you have not jumped on the Ontario Syrah bandwagon yet here’s one that might make you take the leap. 22 months in brand new “cigar barrels” with fully dried fruit … nose shows sweet cherry, plum and pepper but it’s the palate that’ll sway you: plum and pepper carry this wine from start to finish, but it needs another year to fully integrate and settle down that peppery seam. I tried both an aerated and non-aerated version and I can report that either way this wine will bring a smile to your face – it just depends on your tolerance level for pepper.
