Two Sisters 2012 Cabernet Franc

There seems to be a formula in the making of the 2012 reds at Two Sisters: 15% new oak, 24 months of ageing in wood and an additional bottle age for 8 months. This Franc differs a little because its all French oak. The nose has a touch of olive with a floral perfume, raspberry, cherry, ripe strawberry, and toasty notes along with the subtly of roasted red pepper. At 14.5% alcohol this wine does not go quietly and with its silky entry into the mouth and finish that adds in tobacco, grippy tannins and smoky-toasty-cedary notes with an underlay of dark fruit that should emerge with a little more time in bottle … give it another year or two then enjoy over the next 5-7 years.  Price: $48.00 - Rating: ****+
