Strewn 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Winemaker’s Art

Winemaker’s Art is one of those labels that pops up at Strewn on occasion. Whenever something special materialize from the cellar that winemaker Marc Bradshaw deems interesting, but yet doesn’t fit into any of the pre-determined Strewn lines or categories – and that makes for a truly interesting and different wine. These grapes were harvested late-November 2013 and have aromas of sweet cherry and plum, while the palate starts off silky with plum, chocolate, raspberry, cherry, cassis and mocha and continues in much the same vein; then we have the round tannins and great balancing acidity to help keep all that big lush fruit in check.  Price: 23.95 – Rating: **** ½
