This continues to be one of my favourite Closson Chase Chardonnays, and the price is another plus on this one, so it’s affordable and delicious, a perfect combination for Chard-fans; it is also interesting to note that this is the first year the wine has appeared under screwcap (they say it is to signify “drink now” but I’d still lie this one down for 5 years or so). 16 months in 2nd use barrels (no new) has churned out a wine with vanilla cream, lemon, peach, and apple core with spicy edges on the finish. This is one you can drink by the bucket-full and at that price you can afford to do it. Price: $22.95 – Rating: ****
