The top end Chardonnay from Leaning Post is a single vineyard affair with 12 months in mostly used oak (30% new) and goes through 10% malolactic fermentation after 6 months with full lees contact throughout and no sulfites added. Aromas are spiced-vanilla, butterscotch, apple cobbler, pear and smoked almond; palate is creamy and spicy with almond, butterscotch, spiced apple and grilled peach. Price: $35.00 – Rating: ****+
