Many people think of Pelee Island as “those cheap (read: value) wines found on the LCBO shelves – but that’s because many have not been to the winery to discover the Vinedressers series, Pelee’s top end, yet still with value in mind. This Chardonnay is a prime example: nose of vanilla, apple and pear, while the palate shows the subtlety of vanilla with more of that apple and pear along with a touch of peach and nice acidity to balance. It’s truly uncomplicated, it’s Reserve-quality Chardonnay at an affordable price. Price: $16.95 – Rating: ****
