In those good years the G. Marquis is a delicious Pinot Noir, the rest of the time it is a typical Pinot Noir, the 2016 I tried was a pure delight of the senses: earthy, smoky, licorice, and black cherry – but be careful, because this is a Vintages Essential product the 2017 is also out there and it is further on the earthy side and pulls back on the fruit.
