I’ve been a Muscedere “fan” since they opened and a bigger “fan” since they took my advice and got rid of the plastic corks and moved to the real stuff. Merlot dominates this blend, making up 60% of it, and with the addition of 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and only 10% Cabernet Franc rounds out this blend. And the entire party saw 50% new oak, which may sound like a lot but have no fear. There’s a beautiful mix of red and black fruit, gentle spice and subtle oak here … as the wine lingers on the tongue there’s a recurrence of spice that swings in making the finish extra-long.
