With 60% of the grapes going through the appassimento method (in a hot vintage already) this wine takes on even sweeter fruit notes – add in the 16 months in barrel and the 50% new oak; you get juicy cherry, raspberry and strawberry notes, there are also hints of red licorice – but the underlying notes are those sweet red fruits that are front and centre.
