Might just be Featherstone’s best Red Tail in quite some time, and that it comes from 2018 makes it even more impressive. This fruit forward Merlot is a little chalky, a little lean, a little smoky and a little cedary … but that’s just the nose – where it shines is on the palate: vanilla, cherry, blackberry and blueberry all play around on the tongue – it’s classically structured Merlot because it’s drinkable from the get-go, but still has a good 5 years of drink-ability.
