A much more Pinot like year in 2017, as compared to 2016. The long fall heat helped ripen the grapes and bring up their Brix levels. This Pinot saw 30% whole cluster pressing, went through both wild and malolactic fermentation with minimal filtration when bottled after 24 months in barrel. There’s a generosity of dark fruit like currants, cranberry, black cherry, plus gentle spice, white pepper and earthy notes – there’s a really juiciness about the mid-palate that keeps you sipping and enjoying … the wine has a lushness and freshness from all that fruit.
