Since its inception, De Simone has prided itself on its Cabernet Franc and they have been rewarded with some awesome versions, even in off-vintages. 2019 is not exactly a stellar vintage, but here Vincenzo De Simone has created another beauty: tobacco and wild raspberry kick things off, the finish is long, the mid palate shows black cherry, black raspberry and is dusted with cocoa while the acidity hangs it all together. Smooth and sippable, this small-batch / hand-harvested Franc is not one you’ll soon forgotten. Another triumph in the Cabernet Franc department for De Simone.  Price $70.00 – Rating: ****+
