Hillebrand 2012 Sauvignon Blanc, Trius
It’s been 3 vintages since Trius introduced Sauvignon Blanc to their line-up of single varietal wines and while it’s hard to match the blistering acidity and pure New Zealand character that winemaker Darryl Brooker gave to the wine, this continues to be a popular success for Hillebrand. This Bronze medal winner at the Ontario Wine Awards 2013 has juicy melon and hints of grapefruit – it’s full flavoured with a decent backing of acidity. Price: $13.95 – Rating: *** ½+
