Kacaba has been making Syrah for quite awhile and the jury is still out as to whether or not that's a smart move, but they are making a name for themselves with it. This Proprietor's Select version has a very stinky nose, which might seem almost impenetrable to some ... dig deep and the wine will reward: fruit and spice elements on the palate mix with meaty and gamey notes all touched with sour cherry and hints of raspberry, there's also a definite peppery element to be had on the finish.
