For those of you on the fence about Baco Noir 2010 should push you over the edge. Sure Baco grows like a weed every year, but a hot vintage does wonders for the flavours of red grapes. Then add to the mix 20 months in seasoned French oak and here's what you get: a nose loaded with cassis, and hints of leather. The flavours forgo too much fruit for coffee, leather and black pepper, there are some currants here but they play second fiddle to the non-fruit flavours. There's also some really good acidity here too. Price: $20.00 - Rating: *** 1/2
