Calamus' second go around with bubbles is a vast improvement over their first attempt, and a sign that they might be on the right track with this wine. Made from 100% Pinot Noir the wine exhibits traits of the source grape. There's citrus for sure but also a smoky note with some peach-raspberry notes. The palate shows off some nice strawberry pith along with hints of apple and peach - pleasant and tasty. I am looking forward to their next version, but this one will satisfy until then.
