There are just some wineries who continue to put out interesting versions of this grape, even though Ontario is not your typical region for Syrah. This wine won a silver medal at the Ontario Wine Awards 2013 and there is no absolutely no doubt in my mind as to why: Plenty of cassis and raspberry (as far as fruit is concerned), there’s also quite a bit of peppery goodness too, making this a true Syrah not only in name but also in smell and taste.
