When Frederic Picard brought out his very first Rosé I was positive it was a blending of red wine and Sauvignon Blanc – there was just so much grapefruit / citrus to it. But nope, this Rosé is made wholly from Cabernet Franc grapes, and always has been and I’m assured (for now) always will be. The ’12 version hails back to that very first vintage – a nose of grapefruit, white pepper and raspberry … the palate has a lovely peppered raspberry-cherry note all with citrus backing.
