I have to admit I am surprised to see a straight Cabernet Franc coming out of this winery, who once upon a time, in what seems like a galaxy far, far away, said they were going to do Pinot Noir and Chardonnay (and Gamay) only ... Now we see Bordeaux wines coming out of their barrel room? All I can say is good for them and it's about time. This is a real delight of a first effort with tobacco, raspberry and coffee bean on the nose; palate is very pretty with plenty of tobacco, raspberry, mocha, violets and some gritty tannins. This is a well-balanced, well-made Franc from a producer I did not expect it from ... but I'm glad they are on board. Price: $24.95 - Rating: ****+
