Ever had a Gamay at 15% alcohol? Neither have I, but I did try one at 14.9% ... this Stratus version is mammothly boozy but it's not just some alcohol laden mess ... this is serious Gamay loaded with fruit. A nose that's deeply aromatic with cherry, peppered strawberries and a touch of raisin and fig. The palate delivers spicy black cherry with good acidity, silky tannins with a great black cherry linger ... this wine shows the power possible from the 2010 vintage, yet all done with finesse.
