Long one of my favourite wines from Vineland (for value alone) their base-model Cabernet Franc continues to deliver value for money ... where else are you going to find a quality Franc for $13? Brian Schmidt shows consistency in this grape once again even in the tough 2011 vintage. Light and fruity this wine begs as much for a chill as it does for you to enjoy it at room temp. A nice raspberry-tobacco note greets the nose, while the tobacco and raspberry continue on the mouth adding a touch of cranberry cocktail, cherry and vanilla for good measure. By the third or fourth sip the juiciness of this wine hits you and you realize ... I should have bought more, this bottle will be gone very soon ... so avoid disappointment and the realization, buy more than one. By the way, you'll also notice a nice balance of acidity here too, so it not just all fruit and juicy there's balance as well. Drink now thru 2015. Price: $12.95 - Rating: ****+
