Riesling might be a staple in Niagara, but it doesn’t have the same kind of cache in the Lake Erie region … they know they have warmer temps and therefore they take advantage of it with more red varieties. But on occasion there comes along a hearty soul that puts Riesling to the test. At Muscedere their Riesling was planted back in 2003 so the vines have had a number of years to develop a good root system. The nose is pear, lime and peach pit dominated, while the palate doles out lovely lime and great minerality along with a good amount of acidity to keep it all clean and fresh.
