Union Wines 2010 Noir
The Noirs in question here are the two that can do gang-buster business here in Ontario: Pinot and Gamay … Pinot gets plenty of respect while Gamay only gets part time respect. This wine is light in colour, as one would expect from this coupling with a nose of sour cherry and cranberry. Taste is of ripe cherries, some white pepper and a nice bite of acidity. Thisis a fun, playful wine that’s extremely quaffable … and it’s almost thirst quenching – in a red wine sort of way. Plus there’s a nice length to the finish. Price: $15.95 – Rating: *** ½+
