Burning Kiln 2010 Kiln Hanger
Another of these kiln dried (appassimento) style wines that some winery’s in the province are beginning to get known for. Burning Kiln, for obvious reasons, just happens to be one of those wineries. The drying for this 100% Cabernet Franc wine happened over the course of nine days, then the wine was aged 13months in a mix of three different kinds of new oak (Eastern European, French and American) before being bottle in April of 2012. The result is a wine with a massive 15.9% alcohol. Dark cherry, mocha and spic lead the charge here; it’s a big hefty wine that’ll need some time to settle, so give it 2-3 years before drinking or decant for at least an hour.
