During my Taste the Season tour in 2012 I was so enthralled by the ribs at Ravine that I failed to take note of the wine being served with it. Well I didn’t actually fail – I just think it took a back seat … now, sometime later, looking over my notes I see that the wine was a pretty good match and a fine wine all on its own. Smoky-raspberry dictates the aromas, while those same notes make their way to the palate and adds cranberry and tobacco to the mix – a delicious Franc, not as delicious as those ribs, but that would be a tall order for any winee.
