This is a whopper of a Chardonnay, and I don’t mean flame broiled and served anyway you like it. Only 196 cases have been made … it was aged 17 months in 15% new French oak and fermented using wild yeast. All this prep for bottle equals a heavily oaked wine with telltale baked-spiced apple, vanilla cream, toffee and even some coffee notes … it also has nice acidity in the mouth and the spiced apple comes out just right on the finish … this is not your same-old same-old Chardonnay, there’s depth under the cork here.
