Trust Chateau des Charmes to take a very French grape from Burgundy and turn it into their own and I believe this to be the best Aligote they have made to date. A nose of ripe apple, lemon pith and floral notes that are very appealing and alluring - the flavours load up on apple blossom and lemon peel - but it's the freshness that's really impressive here, especially in such a hot vintage as 2010. Perfect for patio sipping with a light lunch or all on its own. Price: $13.55 - Rating: ****
