Le Clos Jordanne 2007 La Petite Colline Pinot Noir
So far I have tried all of the Pinot Noir offerings from Le Clos Jordanne for 2007 and I would have to say that this single vineyard version, made from fruit sourced from La Petite Colline Vineyard, is the best wine made from the 2007 crop by this winery. Probably because ‘La Petite’ is known for its delicacy in all of the previous vintages and in the hot 2007 vintage delicacy was what was needed. Winemaker Tom Bacheldar called the 2007 vintage an “aberration” and he was right, the other ’07 Pinots didn’t seem to have the depth of character La Petite possessed. The colour is dark and the fruit is big. The nose is floral with blackberry and cherry fruit. The palate is delicate and delicious with nice tannins and a lovely strawberry-raspberry finish. Price: $40.00 – Rating: ****½
