A triple vertical tasting of this wine (2008, 2009, 2010) over the holiday season has proved that this wine is getting better each and every time it is made, but still manages to maintain its core year after year. This is a wine that sees the inside of a French barrel for 9 months. It is considered "reserve" because it is made using all the Chardonnay grown on the Riverview estate (only 1 acre). The nose is full of ripe fruit which drives this wine, aromas of peach and pear fill the nostrils. On the palate Bosc pear caresses the tongue while hints of buttery-vanilla playfully inter-twine; the finish melds the barrel and the fruit into an unripen peach flavour that keeps you coming back for more.
