I have to admit vintage variation sucks, but it's also what makes Ontario such an interesting place to make and taste wine. The '09 version of this wine was all-that-and-a-bag-of-chips, as the kids used to say. The 2010 is a hotter vintage and shows more tropical fruit ... the nose is pineapple and pear covered in silky vanilla; while the palate has a nice buttery sensation, some vanilla notes and the fruit is tropically tinged. It's hard to live up to a legend like the '09 Bella Terra Chardonnay, but this one seems to hold its own with a lovely vanilla, tropical fruit and peachy finish, all washed clean with good acidity ... nice balance here. Let rest another year before consuming. Price: $24.95 - Rating: *** 1/2+
