Original Review ... This 2005 general list (at the LCBO) Cabernet-Merlot reminds me of the 2002. That wine was made from a great growing year, had a wonderful and powerful nose and had ageing potential to spare … and was excellent value for $15.85. This 2005 comes off the same way – the nose is rich with red berry and tobacco leaf being the most dominant smells … in the mouth, it’s more complex, dealing out flavours of cran-raspberry, tobacco, vanilla and delicious sweet red fruit. Silky tannins and plenty of ageability to spare … as I said, good value for $15.85.
