As a fan of Wayne's when he played hockey I always figured I'd also be a fan of his wines - the problem with that thinking is there are no cards to collect and cardboard bubble gum that comes with each bottle (I think they could put it under the label - just a thought). But enough about my past and on to the present: this is a very good Riesling form a year where sweetness and acidity conspired together to deceive the palate. Case in point: the numbers say this is a 4 on the sugar scale, but I say it tastes more like a 2. Pear and lemonade flavours play across the tongue all leading to a citrus sweet finish with decent low alcohol (10%). Price: $18.95 - Rating: *** 1/2+
