Reserve means special and I often have a problem with why some producers call a wine reserve when it seems that nothing "special" has been done to it; but that does not seem to be the case here. A Syrah for the 2007 vintage that spent 24 months in a mix of American, French and Hungarian oak. The nose is rich in vanilla, pepper and black cherry ... the palate retains the vanilla, adds black pepper, nice dark fruit but with some big tannins and plenty of acidity; this wine needs to be laid down for a few years to mellow, then drink over the next 5-8 years.
