Rosewood Estates 2007 Mon Cherie
“Mon Cherie Amour, you’re the only one that I adore.” Not sure Stevie Wonder ever intended his lyrics to be about a mead / sour cherry concoction, but if he ever tasted it I’m sure he wouldn’t have minded. This is a pure summertime fun wine if ever there was one. It smells exactly, and I’m not kidding here, exactly like hockey card bubble gum (you know what I’m talking about – open a pack of cards and take a whiff – umm – it’s what some of us bought them for). This smell continues through into the flavours department, with cherry thrown in for good measure. This is a fun tasty wine but try to avoid throwing the bottle and seeing who can get it closest to the wall. Bonus points here for making the flavour last longer than the bubblegum ever did, and it won’t crack into a million piece cardboardy pieces when you drink it. Serve cold, breathe deep and enjoy the memories. Price: $18.00 – Rating: ****½
