Ridgepoint 2005 Riesling
So you’ve probably read about the 2005 Medium-dry Riesling from Ridgepoint and are wondering how the two wines compare. This one is drier and has more balancing acidity … that’s the Reader’s Digest version, but let’s dig a little deeper. While the medium-dry was a perfect little sipper on it’s own, the dry Riesling is a perfect pairing with chicken, fish, pork or other light dishes. Both wines have similar smells, but this drier version removes those exotic fruits from its repertoire, choosing to stay with the simpler of the aromas: citrus, peach and apple. The taste follows the nose to a tee, with the barest hint of perceived sweetness and a clear, crisp, fresh tart apple, medium length finish. Well balanced and very affordable this is another great Riesling from Ridgepoint. If you haven’t read the medium-dry review, what are you waiting for, that one is really good too.
