It’s nice to be able to find a gewürztraminer that’s tasty at a reasonable price. Many I have come across this year have had their prices north of the $16 mark and even more above $18. CREW has made a nice gewurzt at a price worthy of a 2 to 4 bottle pick-up. The nose is laced with a fruity, spicy, rose water and floral sweetness – many of the typical aromas you’ll find in gewurzt. The rose petal continues on the palate with a touch of sweetness that was discussed in the tasting room as potentially being banana Popsicle … and after a few tastes and a trip to the corner store to purchase a banana Popsicle (I hadn’t had one in a long time), I would have to agree. Delicious and refreshing. Pair with spicy Asian dishes or sip on it’s own.
