I was very pleased to see this little winery from the Lake Erie North Shore take gold at this year’s Ontario Wine Awards for their Chardonnay. The smells are pretty simplistic, dominated by apples and lemons; but in the mouth is where we find its complex side: good green apple tang and a peach-lemon finish. What really makes this wine a winner is that it’s refreshingly crisp and clean … just lovely, as the unoaked flavour play and dance on your tongue; fresh and lively is the best way to describe it – and shouldn’t we all have that feeling … even if only in our wine. Nearly sold out at the winery as of July 12, 2008. Price: $14.95
