Calamus Estate 2008 Pinot Gris
I find Calamus winery to be one of the great unsung value wineries in Niagara. With Pinot Gris / Pinot Grigio being such an “in-wine” nowadays, you’re seeing the price of these wines rising like gas prices in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). But Calamus continues to offer value year after year. This new edition of their popular Pinot Gris is loaded with apple, grapefruit and other citrus smells. On the palate, apple and peach course through the mouth before giving way to the big, refreshing and certainly long grapefruit finish … lovely and an absolute steal for the price. Price: $15.00 – Rating: ****½
