Part of the four 2006 Sauvignon Blanc series currently available at Vineland … This one is another single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, but this time winemaker Brian Schmidt decided to vinify half of the wine in stainless steel and the other half in French oak for 8 months. The results are the best of both worlds. The nose has citrus in the form of lemon Pledge, while also giving way to other more tropical smells like pineapple, melon and a touch florally. The barrel influence comes through in the flavours, as vanilla creeps in amongst the lemon curd and tropical fruit. This wine still retains its good acidity in the finish, yet is smooth through the mouth. A good Fume Blanc style. Price: $25.00
