Stratus uses a blend of their red grapes to create this icewine, and the blend changes every year, but if you consider the grapes they grow includes Gamay, Syrah, Malbec, Petit Verdot as well as the Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc and Merlot, you have a good idea about what might be going into this wine. This year’s version is ripe with cherries and strawberries, honeyed sweetness and good acidity on the finish, which helps it to avoid any kind of cloying or sticky feel on the tongue.
