My wife is not a red wine drinker, so when she likes one I take note - and this was one of those times. It's light and easy drinking with cherry, cranberry and a touch of spice - along with good tannins and acidity ... it also spent 12 months in 2 second use oak barrels. I do know my wife is partial to Pinot Noir - and tasting this wine I was reminded of it's very Pinot-esque profile, so maybe that's why she was so taken with it - though I have to admit, I gave up a long time ago trying to figure out my wife's taste and just decided to go with it.
