Talk about a year for Cabernet Sauvignon, 2012 definitely was, and after 21 months in a mix of 50/50 old and new French and American oak the Strewn version has made its appearance. Really lovely aromas of chocolate, licorice, blackberry and raspberry that tickle and tingle the olfactories. Mouthfeel is a silky-supple mix of chocolate, raspberry, plum and cherry – I likened it to a port-like flavour and winemaker Marc Bradshaw admitted he likes to let his Cab Sauv hang up to a month longer than most giving it that richer mouthfeel … Mission accomplished.
