I love judging the "Bordeaux Blends" under $20 at the All Canadian Wine Championships, it is there that you'll find some real gems, like this 2013 The Chase, which is a blend of all five Bordeaux grape varieties, although Petit verdot and Malbec only make up 4% of the blend.  The nose has mocha, coffee, licorice and smoke while hints of dark fruit linger on the back end.  Price: $19.90 - Rating: *** 1/2+
